John Jay Youth Football Team Rules and Commitment:


Player Commitment:
As a participant and member of John Jay Youth Football, I commit to giving my best effort and to always be a good teammate. I will always play and practice with great sportsmanship, safety, and respect for the game of football. I will always play within the rules and respect all coaches, players, and referees.
 
Team Rules:

  • Be on time for all practices and games
  • Always pay attention on the football field, play the game in a safe manner and within the rules
  • Practices are mandatory, missing scheduled practices without proper notification and approval from the head coach will have a direct influence on playing time
  • The Head Coach must be notified in advance in regard to schedule conflicts that will result in missed practices or games
  • Players that break the JJYF Code of Conduct will be disciplined by the head coach or Coaching Director. Player suspension or a reduction in playing time is allowed if approved by the Coaching Director and President
  • Players are responsible for bringing their required safety and football equipment to practices and games
  • No player will be allowed to participate in a practice or game without the proper safety and football equipment
  • Any player that suffers a head injury will be requested to sit out the rest of the practice or game, and will be required to seek an examination by a healthcare professional. A medical note of clearance will be required from a healthcare professional before the player is allowed to resume participation
  • Any player that misses a week of scheduled practice due to an injury will not be allowed to play in that week’s game. A medical note of clearance will be required from a healthcare professional before the player is allowed to resume participation
  • Players are expected to study and understand their playbooks
  • Players are expected to listen to their coaches and not to be disruptive during practices and games
  • Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner on and off the football field
